Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb urged the youths of the State to join hand with the Government against the menace of drugs in the State through social media by intensifying the struggle to make Tripura an addiction-free state and raising the level of consciousness of people through their posts.

He was addressing a gathering of National Social Service (NSS) volunteers during the inauguration of the two-day Fifth State NSS Festival in the Agartala town hall on Wednesday.

Assuring the youths, gathered at the felicitation programme for their volunteer services to the society, the Chief Minister assured that the government to be by their side and urged them to launch a war against drugs and help the Government in making a drug addiction-free Tripura.

He viewed that instead of using the social media for negative and destructive activities if the youths start using it for making the State drugs free then they can do wonders and in less time than what the Government shall need they can make Tripura addition free.

He also urged the youths to inform the police using the dial 100 number without any fear about the activities of the drug peddlers.

The Chief Minister said that his effort will continue to ensure the development of the state and all that I need is your sincere co-operation of the youths.

Besides Deb, Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Manoj Kanti Deb and senior officials were present in the programme where cultural activities were also held.
