Imphal: Security forces in a joint operation recovered a huge cache of arms from a militant hideout in the Uyok-Aigejang area of Nambol police station in Manipur‘s Bishnupur district on Monday morning.

Acting on specific intelligence, a joint team of central security forces and Manipur police, including a women’s police team, launched the operation around 5 AM.

Upon spotting the approaching security personnel, four militants abandoned their hideout, leaving behind a significant cache of weapons.

The recovered arms and ammunition include a self-loading rifle with magazine, one 9mm pistol with six live rounds, one sniper rifle, two Bolt Action rifles, two barrel rifles, nine highly explosive hand grenades, a radio set, a bulletproof jacket, and ammunition.

The recovered items have been handed over to the Nambol police station for further investigation.
