Imphal: The Manipur Government has condemned the recent attack on unarmed villagers in Koutruk, Imphal West, which resulted in the tragic death of a woman and injured eight others, including a journalist.

The attack, reportedly carried out by militants using drones equipped with double-blast bombs and sophisticated weapons, has been viewed as a serious act of terror.

In a statement issued on Sunday, the government stated that it was committed to restoring peace and normalcy in the state, and denounced the attack as an attempt to undermine these efforts.

The government has assured that immediate action has been taken to control the situation and bring those responsible to justice.

The statement read, “The State Government is putting all possible efforts towards bringing normalcy and peace to the State. Such an act of creating havoc among the unarmed villagers reportedly by militants is seen as an attempt to derail the efforts taken by the State Government to establish peace in the State. And such acts are condemned very strongly.”
