Guwahati: Two fatal accidents were reported in Tinsukia and Lakhimpur districts in Assam on Wednesday with two confirmed deaths.

In the first incident, a collision occurred at Kakopathar’s Maithong in Tinsukia district, where a pickup truck collided with a motorcycle, claiming the life of a 65-year-old man.

The deceased was identified as Dipen Neog.

The impact was severe, and the motorcycle rider succumbed to his injuries instantly.

The driver of the pickup truck fled the scene, abandoning the damaged vehicle.

The local police were immediately informed and are now investigating the incident.

In a separate incident, a teacher lost his life in a road accident in Lakhimpur’s Dhalpur.

Baneshwar Ligira, a teacher at a local high school, was struck by another pickup truck while heading home.

Despite being rushed to Lakhimpur Medical College and Hospital (LMCH), he was declared dead upon arrival.
