Nagaland National Ayush Mission conducts health camps for senior citizens

Dimapur: To reach out to the elderly, the Ayush wing under Nagaland’s directorate of health and family welfare conducted a series of geriatric health camps for senior citizens across Nagaland covering 12 districts through the Ayush health and wellness centres.

During the campaign held under the theme ‘live healthy, age healthy’ from August 10 to August 17, free medical examinations and treatment, consultations and medicines were distributed to the senior citizens, according to an official report on Monday.

Also, considering the importance of a healthy lifestyle, the senior citizens were taught basic fitness and exercise regimes.

The state wing of the National Ayush Mission, with the support of the Ayush ministry, aims to improve the quality of life for the elderly people through geriatric health camps and other similar activities by spreading health awareness and tending basic medical aid for the elders, periodically.

Deputy director (Ayush), National Ayush Mission Nagaland, Dr T Bendangtula and state nodal officer, National Ayush Mission Nagaland, Dr Seyiekhrieto John oversaw the campaign.
