Guwahati: A man was killed after being run over by a truck in Kamrup, Assam on Saturday.
According to reports, the deceased was identified as Hamidul Ali, a resident of Nagaon.

The accident took place in the Agsia area of Boko, Kamrup.

Locals said that it was not clear who was at fault but the truck ran over the bike and the driver did not care to stop.

A local said that while such accidents usually are a result of noncompliance to traffic rules, the same is in doubt in this case.

The local added that the truck was intercepted by the people who witnessed the accident but the driver managed to escape.
The police have begun an investigation into the incident.
