Agartala: In a gesture of goodwill, Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina sent an assortment of gifts to Tripura Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, reciprocating his earlier gesture of sending 500 kg of Queen Pineapples to her.
On Thursday, 400 kg of Haribhanga mangoes, 50 kg of Hilsa fish, and 50 kg of Rasgulla were sent by Sheikh Hasina through the Agartala-Akhaura Integrated Check Post.

Md Rezaul Haque Chowdhury, the First Secretary and Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala, announced that these gifts would soon be handed over to Chief Minister Dr. Saha.
“This is indeed a happy day as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has sent the renowned Bangladeshi Haribhanga mangoes, Hilsa fish, and rasgulla to Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and the people of Tripura. The relationship between Bangladesh and Tripura is historic, dating back to before 1971. We maintain a cordial relationship with Tripura, and the bond between India and Bangladesh is very deep. In the coming days, both countries, along with Tripura, will further develop and strengthen this relationship,” he said.
