Bengaluru: A non-bailable warrant has been issued against former Karnataka chief minister and senior BJP leader BS Yediyurappa in connection with a POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) case.
The warrant, issued by the first fast track court, demands the immediate arrest of Yediyurappa.
The case is related to a complaint filed in March by the mother of the victim at the Sadashivanagar police station in Bengaluru, alleging sexual assault on her minor daughter.
Frustrated by the Karnataka police’s inaction, the victim’s brother approached the high court, seeking an order for the arrest of the accused.
In response to the petition, the fast track court conducted a hearing and issued a non-bailable warrant against Yediyurappa.
