GANGTOK: The swearing-in ceremony for PS Tamang as the chief minister of Sikkim, has been postponed by a day.
Initially scheduled to take place earlier, Tamang will now take the oath for his second term as Sikkim chief minister on June 10.
The decision was made during an SKM legislature party meeting held at the Sikkim chief minister’s official residence.
The rescheduling is due to Tamang’s planned visit to Delhi on Sunday to attend Narendra Modi’s swearing-in ceremony as Prime Minister for a third term.
The oath-taking ceremony for Tamang and his council of ministers will now be held at Paljor Stadium at Gangtok in Sikkim.
In the legislature party meeting, the newly elected SKM MLAs unanimously adopted a resolution to support Narendra Modi as Prime Minister.
“We congratulate Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji and the NDA on the remarkable victory in the Lok Sabha elections. The Sikkim Krantikari Morcha (SKM) will support the NDA for the development and prosperity of our country,” Tamang stated.
