BJP led coalition government in Manipur’s ‘Go to Village’ Mission which was launched on May 1, 2018 has so far provided benefits to 1,73, 327 beneficiaries out of the total 2,40, 602 enrolled for different schemes,according to official sources.
The Election Dept has so far delivered benefits to 338 applicants out of the total 2,757 applicants, 451 out of the 2,422 applicants in Fisheries Department, 4,080 out of 4439 in Forest dept, 26,094 out of 27,880 in Health and Family Welfare Dept, 1,994 out of 2,886 in Horticulture and Soil Conservation, 836 out of 1,488 in water supply dept, 40,871 out of 44,835 in Power Dept, 6,792 out of 20,835 in RD & PR, 35,733 out of 39,658 in Revenue Dept, 400 out of 400 Science & Technology Dept, 494 out of 1,167 in Sericulture Dept, 5018 out of 17,664 in Social Welfare Dept, 5,919 out of 12,592 in Textile Handloom and Handicraft Dept, 1,168 out of 2,501 in Trade Commerce and Industries, 191 out of 565 in Transport Dept, 264 out of 295 in Tribal Affairs and Hills, 7,483 out of 8,154 in Veterinary and Animal Husbandry, 228 out of 236 in Welfare of OBC and SC, 230 out of 1,469 in Labour Dept, 410 out of 410 in Urban development, 27 out of 27 in Minority Affairs Dept, 219 out of 330 in minority dept etc.
A total of 5,237 applications were rejected due to insufficient documents while the pending applications for various schemes are under process to ensure timely delivery of services to eligible beneficiaries without delay. A total number of 61,371 beneficiaries are yet to be provided benefits under various schemes related to the ‘Go to Village’ Mission.
The Mission which was brainchild of Chief Minister N Biren Singh, aims to reach out to the citizens at their doorstep and provide awareness of Government programmes and its benefits, and ensure timely delivery of services to eligible beneficiaries.
Initially it plans to improve the agricultural sector due to frequent crop failure. But it was incorporated with other government departments to give special focus on social benefits, health, education and identification of left out eligible beneficiaries for inclusion in Government programmes of housing, old age pension among others.
Now Go to Village’ Mission has completed four phases. The next phase of the Mission will be held on June 27, 2018. The district administrations and the concerned government departments are playing a major role in providing the benefits included in the Mission.
