DIBRUGARH: With just a few days left for assembly elections in Arunachal Pradesh, alarming reports have surfaced from the Northeast state, indicating involvement of NSCN-KYA in the electoral process.

In Longding Pumao assembly constituency, situated in the insurgency-prone Longding district of Arunachal Pradesh, voters are reportedly being coerced to support a specific candidate, under alleged threat by the militant group.

Leaflets conveying these alleged threats are being circulated within villages under Longding Pumao assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh.

Additionally, armed militants affiliated with NSCN-KYA have allegedly been observed in villages such as Niuasa, Longkhaw, Mintong and Longphong under Longding Pumao assembly constituency in Arunachal Pradesh, where they are allegedly intimidating residents at gunpoint to vote for National People’s Party (NPP) candidate, Thangwang Wangham.

Sources further indicate that Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders and workers are specifically targeted by these militants, warning them to either support the NPP candidate or face severe consequences.
