Imphal: Amit Shah, Union Home Minister, will likely visit Hapta Kangfeibung, Palace Compound, Imphal East on April 14, 2024.

Prior to his visit, an official notification was issued on Friday by Kh. Lokeshwar Singh, Medical Superintendent of the Jawaharlal Nehru Institute of Medical Sciences, Imphal said, “Regarding this, I would like to ask you to please be sure to reserve Deluxe-2 as a VVIP room. All the consultants are told to make the service available as and when needed for the VVIP till the departure. Heads of Departments (HODs) in Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, and Radiodiagnosis are informed to make sure the investigation facilities are available.”

The HOD Medicine may please reserve one ICCU bed for the purpose, it stated.

Shah is scheduled to visit strife Manipur to review the law and order situation and also election campaigns for candidates of the BJP and Naga People’s Front (NPF) as the officials are aware of the latest development of his visit.

Shah, one the star campaigners of the BJP is scheduled to arrive in Imphal on April 14 and he will be addressing an election rally and meeting at the Hapta Kangjeibung, Imphal.

Shah will launch the election campaigns for the BJP candidate Th Basantakumar in the Inner Manipur Parliamentary seat and NDA ally NPF’s candidate Kachui Timothy Zimik for the Outer Manipur PC seat reserved for scheduled tribes.

The elections in Manipur will be held on April 19, and April 26.

The Union home minister was in Manipur from May 29, 2023, to June 2, 2023, when the state was reeling under ethnic violence.

As the violence between two warring groups — the Meiteis and Kukis dying down to a certain extent at least at present, the union home minister is preparing his election campaigns to gain his political advantage, working president of the Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee, Th Devabrata told the newsmen at his office, Congress Bhavan, Imphal on Thursday.

Devabrata called on the BJP double-engine governments to urge the Union Home Minister Amit Shah to declare the implementation of the National Register of Citizens (NRC) for all of India during his upcoming Manipur visit.

The Congress leader said that Shah’s visit would be after 300 days though he promised to resolve the Manipur crisis within ten days as that was announced during his previous visit.
