Aizawl: Alleging discrepancies in some answer sheets of competitive exam conducted by Mizoram Public Service Commission (MPSC), the state apex student body, Mizo Zirlai Pawl (MZP) on Wednesday demanded the resignation of the commission chairman J.C Ramthanga.
Speaking to reporters at a press conference in Aizawl, MZP President H. Lalthianghlima alleged that there were several irregularities in the conduct of the last combined competitive examination by the MPSC as correcting fluid was used in several answer papers by examiners to manipulate and alter marks obtained by candidates.
He said that there was evidence of marks obtained by candidates being altered and re-written using correcting fluid, which raises concern about the fairness of the commission.
Unlike in the past, the MPSC also refused to issue the answer papers in response to requests filed under the Right to Information (RTI) act, he said.
The student body asked the chairman to take moral responsibility and resign within this week in order to protect the reputation of the commission.
It also warned that it will intensify its agitation if the chairman does not tender his resignation within the deadline.
