GANGTOK: Troopers of the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army demonstrated exceptional bravery and swift response, rescuing five tourists whose vehicle overturned near Kupup due to sudden snowfall in a high-altitude area of East Sikkim.

“Immediate rescue action and timely medical aid from troops of Trishakti Corps saved lives of five tourists whose vehicle toppled near Kupup due to sudden snowfall, in high altitude area in East Sikkim,” a statement from the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army stated.

Despite the challenging weather conditions, the soldiers promptly responded to the distress call, risking their own safety to reach the accident site and evacuate the injured to a nearby Army Post.

“Reacting promptly, the brave soldiers immediately rushed to the site despite inclement weather risking own safety and evacuated the injured to the nearby Army post,” the statement stated.

Upon arrival at the Army post, the tourists, some of whom suffered severe injuries, received immediate medical assistance and relief.

“The tourists, some of whom were grievously injured, were provided necessary medical aid and relief,” the Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army stated in a statement.
