Guwahati: The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has disaffiliated and downgraded many institutions in the country and two schools from Assam also are on that list.
It has been reported that there were surprise inspections which were conducted in many schools and the inspectors noticed many violations that occurred in certain institutions.

As many as 20 schools have been disaffiliated and three schools have been downgraded In the country.
According to the list released by CBSE, Guwahati’s Dispur-situated Sai RNS Academy was disaffiliated, while Sreeram Academy in Assam’s Barpeta has been downgraded.
The malpractices included the presentation of dummy students, admission of ineligible candidates, and improper record-keeping in some schools.

The official CBSE notification read, “Pursuant to the surprise inspection conducted in CBSE schools across the country to check whether the schools are running as per the provisions and norms contained in Affiliation and Examination Bye-laws, it was found that some schools were committing various malpractices of presenting dummy students, ineligible candidates and not maintained records properly.”
