Guwahati: Senior Congress leader Dwijen Sharma resigned from his post of Vice President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) on Tuesday.
The former MP sent the resignation letter to APCC president Bhupen Kumar Bora.
The senior Congress leader did not state why he resigned but some reports claimed that he was unhappy with the candidature list of the Lok Sabha election.

He was among the aspirants for the Congress ticket to contest the Gauhati Lok Sabha seat.

However, there are possibilities that the candidate might be Mira Borthakur and for this, he was upset, some reports claimed.
While Sharma resigned from the post of vice president, he did not state if he would resign from Congress as well.
