The Chief Minister said, โ€œIf Assam’s economy becomes Rs. 10 lakh crore then we will start to contribute positively towards the countryโ€™s economy. Presently, we are around Rs 5.67 lakh crore, and next year we will become Rs 6.43 lakh crore and by 2029, we plan to achieve Rs 10 lakh crore economies by 2029.โ€

Sarma added, โ€œAs of now our state is a dependent state, we are presently below the national average. ย When we go beyond the national average then we will be a contributory state. So by 2029-30, Assam should be able to achieve above the national average, whether it is health, education, goods, innovation, culture, or any other sector. โ€

โ€œSo far we are growing at a good pace and last few years it has been a very positive journey and if we continue like this for another four to five years then Assam will become a contributory state. And that means that we are aligned with the dream of Prime Minister Narendra Modi,โ€ Sarma summed up.
