The Government Railway Police Force (GRPF) seized a consignment of suspected morphine weighing around 900 grams from 12423 DN Rajdhani Express during a routine check at Guwahati Railway Station on Monday morning.

One 39-year-old, who has been identified as Saulat Rasool, was apprehended in this connection.

As per GRPF officials, the accused, son of Ajijur Rehman hails from Amethi’s Sariya Peerjada Asishpur area in Uttar Pradesh.

The GRPF seized the consignment of suspected morphine from Coach no-A-1 of the Rajdhani Express which was standing at platform no 1 around 7: 45 am.

The accused brought the consignment of suspected morphine from Dimapur in Nagaland and was supposed to deliver it at Kanpur.

On May 21, Paltan Bazar police seized four gold bars valued at around Rs 30 lakh from the possession of one Bikash Toporia.
