The government of India and the NSCN (IM) during a meeting of the Ceasefire Ground Rules Review Committee at Chumukedima police complex here on Friday suggested promoting more conducive โ€œground environmentโ€ while upholding progression of sincere conversations embarking on the landmark agreement signed between the two parties on August 3, 2015.

The ministry of information and publicity, NSCN (IM), issued a โ€œjoint releaseโ€ after the meeting. Both the parties described the meeting as courteous and reciprocal.

Special secretary (internal security), ministry of home affairs, Rina Mitra led the 11-member government of Indiaโ€™s representatives while โ€œgenโ€ (retd) VS Atem headed the 13-member NSCN (IM) team at the meeting.
