Namita Thapar, who is serving as an Executive Director of Emcure Pharmaceuticals and rose to fame after appearing as a judge in Shark Tank India, recently appeared stunning in a traditional Maharashtrian look

Thapar, who described herself as a proud ‘Punekar (residing in Pune)’ took to Instagram to share some her beautiful looks in paithani sarees which she draped in a nauvari style (traditional Maharashtrian way of draping sarees)

According to legend, Marathi women were entrusted with the responsibility of helping their fellow male warriors so to facilitate easy movement for them, the nauvari style of wearing saree was introduced in their culture

Sharing her saree looks on Instagram, Thapar wrote, “I am a proud Punekar & love maharashtrian food, language, culture & of course clothes.. so here I am in @verymuchindian.official (season 2) stoles & paithani saris (draped in ‘nauvari’ style, a dhoti style sari that was introduced so women could fight alongside the male warriors)”

“We must support our rich heritage!! Thanks @rsr_ritirahulshah for designing the paithani jumpsuit & jacket. Paithani is such a beautiful weave that I had fun wearing it in traditional & modern looks,” she added
