Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) has recently announced that the landing of Chandrayaan 3 on the moon is scheduled for August 23, 2023
With a few days ahead of the landing, the people of India are all waiting with bated breaths to know about the activity that is going around the moon
Netizens were recently asked about their favourite childhood memories of the moon on the X (formerly Twitter) handle of Chandrayaan 3 mission
“No one's childhood is complete without stories of the Moon! Tell us what your favourite childhood Moon memory is and stand a chance to be featured on our X handle,” it said in a statement on X
People became nostalgic about their childhood and narrated various memories that they have found in this magical celestial body of the night sky
Some became nostalgic by recounting about the captivating beauty of moon in the night sky while others narrated how fairytales are often made up by taking the moon as a reference
“when I was fishing at night with my father, the moon was full and bright, but the clouds kept obscuring the view... I was so captivated by the beauty I fell out of the boat trying to keep my eyes on the moon,” one wrote
“My earliest memories,almost all bedtime stories my granny told me featured ‘Chanda mama’ visible through the window ..it wasn’t easy to make me take dinner, transporting me to the lunar world made it easy for her…beautiful memories,” another wrote
There are some who recounted some sweet memories from childhood by gazing peacefully at the moon during leisure hours at night with their families
