Guwahati: The much-awaited results of the Assam Higher Secondary (HS) examinations were announced by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) on Tuesday with 2,40,431 students clearing the exams successfully.

A total of 3,29,901 students appeared for the exams held across the state, with 2,40,431 students successfully passing the examinations.

In the Arts stream, the overall pass percentage stood at 70.12 per cent. Dhemaji district emerged as the district with the highest pass percentage, achieving an outstanding 90.74 per cent. Nalbari district secured the second position with a pass percentage of 88.83, closely followed by Sivasagar district with 86.84 per cent.

The Science stream witnessed an overall pass percentage of 84.96 per cent. Baksa district topped the chart in the Science stream with a remarkable pass percentage of 95.69 per cent. Sivasagar district secured the second position with 94.80 per cent, while Nalbari district stood third with 94.61 per cent.

In the Commerce stream, the overall pass percentage stood at 79.57 per cent. West Karbi Anglong district showcased exceptional performance by securing the top spot with an impressive pass percentage of 97.18 per cent. Nalbari district secured the second position with 96.71 per cent, closely followed by South Salmara district with a pass percentage of 94.44 per cent.

The announcement also shed light on the division-wise performance of students in each stream. In the Arts stream, 28,651 students achieved first division, 58,869 students secured second division, and 95,660 students obtained third division.

In the Commerce stream, 5,254 students secured first division, 6,486 students achieved second division, and 4,505 students obtained third division. In the Science stream, 18,868 students attained first division, 16,455 students secured second division, and 4,082 students obtained third division.
