With a view to get first hand exposure of the farm practice of Vietnam and to take inputs from the ASEAN nation for revitalizing the agriculture sector of the state, Assam Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal leaves for Vietnam on Sunday evening.

Already a delegation of 13 MLAs, government officials and 15 progressive farmers have left for Vietnam on Saturday under the leadership of Agriculture Minister Atul Bora.

The state government takes up the exposure visit considering the seminaries in climate, topography and agriculture patterns of Vietnam and Assam and to replicate the same in the state agriculture sector.

As part of the exposure tour, the team will visit Vietnam Academy of Agricultural Science at Vinh Quynh Tri, Hanoi, Centre for Technology Development and Agriculture Extension on Monday and interact with officials on issues of mutual interest.

The Chief Minister during his visit will meet the Deputy Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development of Vietnam Government Ha Cong Tuan, Chairman of External Relations Commission Hoang Binh Quan and Chairman of Central Economic Commission Cao Due Phat and hold discussions with them.

He will also take part in an investment roadshow at Hanoi in the evening. On the otherhand, the delegation on May 15 will visit Vineco Agriculture Investment Production and Development in Vinh Phuc and farming and processing zones at Khoai Chau district.

The MLAs who are part of the delegation include Ramendra Narayan Kalita, Kamal Singh Narzary, Bhuban Pegu, Numal Momin, Aswini Roy, Teros Gowala, Ramakanta Deuri, Krishnendu Paul, Jogen Mohan, Ganesh Kumar Limbu, Suren Phukan, Rituparna Baruah and Rupak Sharma.

The progressive farmers include Binay Lakhak, Karuna Kt. Hazarika, Jiten Sarangfangsa, Bineswar Baglari, Punam Taye, Nabanita Das, Puspodhar Das, Manik Das, Anwar Hussain, Dibakar Roy, Upen Rabha, Dipon Pator, Polandson Rymbari, Dinesh Gogoi and Sabita Kalita.
