Chinmoy Konch and his younger sister Chiranjita Konch, who are students of the Kendriya Vidyalaya, Dibrugarh, have brought laurels not only to the school but also to the Dibrugarh district by winning gold medals in yoga competitions in the recently-held Regional Sports and Games Meets organised by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangsthan at Chabua in Dibrugarh district and Imphal in Manipur.
Informing this, Pranab Kumar Nath, Yoga Instructor at Shivananda – The Yoga Studio near Srimanta Shankardev Hospital, Mancotta Road in Dibrugarh, told Northeast Now, on Thursday, “Chinmoy Konch has won gold medal in yoga competition during the Regional Sports and Games Meet 2018 organised by the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangsthan (KVS) Chabua Region at Chabua while Chiranjita Konch has won gold medal in yoga competition during the Regional Sports and Games Meet 2018 organized by KVS Imphal Region at Imphal.”
Nath also informed that both the gold medalists have been learning yoga in their Shivananda – The Yoga Studio in Dibrugarh for the last two months.
Chinmoy Konch and Chiranjita Konch are son and daughter of Dilip Konch and Bornali Ligira Konch of Nirmaligaon in Dibrugarh district respectively. Chinmoy is a student of Class VII while his younger sister Chiranjita is a student of Class VI.
As per information, both Chinmoy and Chiranjita will be taking part in the national level Sports and Games Meet to be held on a later date which is yet to be announced.
Their yoga teachers Pranab Kumar Nath and Utpal Baruah have congratulated them on their achievement.
Utpal Baruah informed that while the event at Chabua was held on April 27, 2018 the event at Imphal was held on April 20, 2018.
