With his eyes set on four poll-bound North eastern states of Meghalaya, Nagaland, Tripura and Mizoram, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Mizoram on December 16.
In his maiden visit to the state, the Prime Minister is scheduled to commission Tuirial hydro electricity project and address a public rally at Aizawl. The venue for the Prime Ministerโs rally is Assam Rifles ground in Aizawl.

According to official sources Narendra Modi will officially commission the 60 mega watt Tuirial hydro electricity project. The prime minister will commission the hydro project via satellite link from the venue of the public rally.
Set up on the river Tuirial, power generation from Tuirial HEP will contribute significantly to the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions and contribute towards achieving a low carbon development path for the nation.
Meanwhile,security has been beefed up in Mizoram ahead of Prime Minister Narendra Modiโs visit. A meeting of high level officials chaired by the stateโs chief secretary was held here in Aizawl to ensure security and other logistical preparations for the prime ministerโs visit.
Official sources here in Aizawl said that the prime minister would land at Aizawlโs Lengpui Airport on December 16, from where heโll proceed to Aizawl via helicopter. After addressing the public and commissioning of the hydro project the PM will leave for Shillong the same day.
