Indian-origin Rishi Sunak is now the first Hindu Prime Minister of the United Kingdom

Born on May 12, 1980 in Southampton, Sunak is also popular for being the son-in-law of the famous IT company Infosys’s founder NR Narayana Murthy

Sunak’s father Yashvir is a general practitioner in the UK’s National Health Service and his mother Usha owns a pharmacy in Southampton

His brother Sanjay is a psychologist and his sister Rakhi is the Chief of Strategy & Planning at Education Cannot Wait, the UN’s Global Fund for Education

His grandparents had moved from East Africa to the UK in the 1960s in the hope for a better life

Sunak attended some prestigious institutions in the UK like Winchester College and Oxford University’s Lincoln College where he earned a degree in philosophy, politics and economics

While pursuing an MBA degree from California’s Stanford University as a Fullbright Scholar, Sunak met the love of his life Akshata  Murty

He tied the knot with Murty in 2009 and is also the father of two daughters

Sunak worked for a brief tenure in Goldman Sachs and then for some reputed hedge fund firms
