Mmhonlumo Kikon

Nagaland advisor for IT, Science & Technology and New & Renewable Energy, Mmhonlumo Kikon, on Saturday announced that the State Government has decided to provide free wi fi hotspots in the state capital of Kohima.

The advisor made this announcement at the Nagaland Innovation Expo (NIE) where he graced the occasion as the chief guest at Kohima Science College (KSC) at Jotsoma on Saturday.

Kikon also said that the Neiphiu Rio government would also provide free wi fi in all Deputy Commissioners’ offices in 11 districts, three campuses of Nagaland University and one free wi fi hot spot at KSC.

He further informed that free wi fi hotspots would be implemented in a few months’ time after completing the necessary infrastructural set-up.

While appreciating the initiative of NIE, advisor announced that Nagaland Innovation Expo would be an annual event from next year. Kikon said this idea of innovation expo was good beginning and in the long run it would be helpful to the talented youths in the state.

Various innovations expo items by the students of KSC and other college were displayed at the expo. Several other science exhibitions were also displayed during the programme, which was organized by Kohima Science College Students’ Union and sponsored by the Department of Science and Technology and co-sponsored by Higher Education department.
