The administration has also launched a crusade against illicit country liquor across Bokakhat.

The officers’ recreation centre that was lying in a dilapidated state has also been revived giving it a facelift by the newly appointed SDO (civil).

The preliminary works for the construction of the library has already begun.

These efforts are bound to go a long way in enhancing the tourism potential of Bokakhat which lies quite close to the Kaziranga National Park.

However, it remains to be seen as to when the administration revamps the existing four wards of the municipal area into 10 wards, for smooth administrative functioning.
