As part of Swachhata Pakhwada, 2018, the District Health Society, Kamrup Metro conducted their inauguration ceremony at Sonapur District Hospital on Monday.
The inauguration was held with cleanliness drive and oath taking ceremony.
The Joint Director of Health Services, Dr Ganesh Saikia, has informed that a 15 days schedule has been planned by District Health Society, Kamrup Metro, for ‘Swachhata Parhwara, 2018’, a special drive for cleanliness.
In the 15 days schedule, all the health workers will take active participation on hospital and its premises cleanliness.
Awareness on hygiene and sanitation will also be given to the patients visiting the hospital during this Swachhata Pakhwara fortnight.
During these days community level cleanliness drive has been planned which will be done by ASHA workers with the help of village, health, and sanitation & nutrition committee members and Mahila Arugya Samiti members.
They will also conduct cleanliness drive at community level alongwith cleaning school toilets and Anganwadi centre toilets.
Dr Ganesh Saikia has also informed that during these 15 days, swachhata audit will also be conducted at every health institutions in the district.
In Monday’s inauguration ceremony held at Sonapur District Hospital, the superintendent of the district hospital along with many senior medical officers and district programme management unit officials of National Health Mission (NHM), took active participation in the district hospital cleanliness drive and later planted trees in the hospital premises.
