Mizoram Government has sent around 50 students to Japan under ‘Learn and Earn’ programme for training and employment in the last two years, a State Minister said.

Speaking in the Mizoram Assembly recently, Minister for Labour, Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Pu H. Rohluna said that 16 students were sent to Japan in the first batch in December 2015, and were imparted training at Nagasaki and Sasebo.

The second batch of 34 students, were sent to Nagasaki in 2016, he said. Of the first batch, four have returned while the rest remained in Japan, he said. The State Government has paid Rs 165 lakh for the first batch and Rs 442 lakh for the second batch.
