Filmmaker Rima Das’s Village Rockstars will be screened at the 16th Annual Indian Film Festival of Los Angeles (IFFLA).
The film festival will be hosted at the Regal LA LIVE: A Barco Innovation Center cinemas in downtown Los Angeles from April 11 – 15.
The film revolves around a girl, Dhunu, who has grown up in deprivation. She learns to fend for herself in hostile surroundings while nurturing her dream of owning a guitar someday.
In addition to movie screenings, IFFLA will host a Master Class with The Big Bang Theory star Kunal Nayyar. Presented with support from the India Center Foundation, it will take place on Thursday, April 12 at 9:00 pm.
The film festivals full line-up will include opening night gala film “In the Shadows” with Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee in attendance, closing night gala “Village Rockstars” directed by Rima Das, Hansal Mehta’s “Omerta” with the director in attendance, Naseeruddin Shah-starrer “The Hungry”, and a memorial tribute screening of the late star Sridevi’s 1989 hit “Chandni”.
