Ahead of the polls in Uttarakhand, on Wednesday, General Bipin Rawat’s brother, Colonel Vijay Rawat join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
He said that he joined that BJP because his father after retiring from the Army was with the BJP.
“I have now got my opportunity to join the BJP”, he added.
Rawat added that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is special and all his work is for the “progress of this nation”.

This is what had encouraged him to join the saffron party.
He added that the way the BJP works is admired by everyone.
He also said that if the BJP allows him, he will contest the 2022 Uttarakhand polls.

He also claimed that the ideology of his family is similar to that of the BJP.
General Bipin Rawat who was the Chief of Defence Staff, his wife Madhulika Rawat and 11 other persons on board an ill-fated helicopter died in a crash in December 2021.
