Another case of the Omicron variant of the COVID-19 has been detected in Assam and the new case was reported from Hojai.
As per the health department, the new case has been identified as Ahmed Hussain.
The person had recently come back from Saudi Arabia.
He is currently under the monitoring of the health department.
It may be mentioned that the first Omicron case in Assam was detected in Kamrup Metro’s Sonapur.

As per reports, a 13-year-old boy is infected with the Omicron variant of COVID-19.
He lives with his parents in a rented house at Sonapur.
The family is said to be living in Mumbai for a long time and had recently come back.
They had visited Shillong and after they were put through tests, the boy turned out to be positive for the Omicron variant.
After it was reported that he was tested positive, the health department along with police visited their house in Sonapur’s Moirakusi so that he could be taken to a medical facility.

After detection of the virus, they were residing in a rented house at Moirakusi in Sonapur.
However, the health department and the police found the house to be empty and the patient absconded.
As of now, the Sonapur Police are on the lookout for the boy and his parents.
