The special investigation team (SIT) constituted by the Nagaland government to probe the Oting massacre, on Thursday, interrogated the officials and jawans of 21 Para Special Forces, who were involved in the December 4 botched counter-insurgency operation.
The personnel of the 21 Para Special Forces were interrogated by the Nagaland SIT at the Ranforest Research Institute at Jorhat in Assam.
Notably, the Indian Army had allowed the SIT to record statements of the commandos involved in the December 4 Oting massacre.
The SIT is being led by Nagaland IGP (R) – Limasunep Jamir.

The overall investigation conducted by the SIT in the case is being be monitored by Nagaland ADGP (Law and Order) Sandeep M Tamgadge.
At least 13 innocent civilians lost their lives after commandos of the 21 Para SF opened fire “from all directions” upon a vehicle which they believed to be transporting militants.
However, the vehicle, which was targeted by the commandos, was actually transporting villagers from Oting.
