Nagaland is ready with necessary arrangements for inoculation of the teenagers aged between 15 to 18 years against Covid19 from January 3, 2021.

State nodal officer for Integrated Disease Surveillance Project (IDSP) Dr Nyanthung Kikon told this correspondent on Wednesday that Nagaland health and family welfare department is all prepared with manpower, infrastructure and surveillance units for Covid19 vaccination of this age group of teenagers.

He said in Nagaland, this group of teenagers accounts for around 3%.

Kikon said necessary instructions have been issued to the districts for the purpose.

He said the state has already received the vaccine shots for vaccination of the teenagers of this age group.

“We are doing as much as we can for vaccination of this age group of children,” Kikon said.

He also said the IDSP is in a high mode of surveillance for any international passengers coming to the state.
