Two suspected drug peddlers were arrested by Margherita police at Kathachema village under the Jagun police outpost in eastern Assam’s Tinsukia district.
Acting on specific information, on Monday, a joint operation by Lekhapani and Jagun police led by Partha Pratim Das, SDPO, Margherita launched an operation.
During the operation, police were able to nab a woman and a young man who were involved in drug smuggling.
They have been identified as Meenakshi Meena, 43, and Tarun Nirmalia, 36.
Police seized about 13 grams of brown sugar from the youth’s house.
The arrested woman and the youth are being interrogated at Jagun police outpost.
