The All India United Democratic Front (AIUDF) has stated that it is ready to welcome legislator Sherman Ali if he wants to join the AIUDF.
General Secretary of the AIUDF and Mankachar MLA, Aminul Islam said, “If Sherman wants to come back to AIUDF then he is most welcome as he is our own. It will be like him coming back home.”
He added that the doors are open for Sherman if he decides to quit the Congress.
“Sherman Ali is a vocal and educated leader. He will be a boost to the AIUDF”, he added.
Islam further alleged that the Chief Minister of Assam has made worse statements than those of Sherman.

He said, “The Assam Chief Minister now seems to be speaking like an activist and not a leader.”
Aminul Islam also stated that the AIUDF has its doors open for anyone who wishes to accept its ideology.
He added, “I am not in a state to confirm if the media reports of Sherman joining the AIUDF are true but yes, there are some discussions going on between him and some party members.”
Over the past few days, there have been reports that Sherman Ali Ahmed might join the AIUDF but there has been no official confirmation yet.

Earlier in October, Assam Congress President Bhupen Kumar Borah suspended MLA Sherman Ali for “repeatedly violating party discipline” from Congress.
The decision of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) came after Ali’s failure to reply to the show-cause notice served to him.
Ali was arrested by police on Saturday from his residence in MLA Hostel at Dispur for making “communal and provocative” remarks.
