A heritage Hublot watch belonging to legendary footballer Late Diego Maradona, allegedly stolen from Dubai, has been recovered from upper Assam’s Sivasagar district.
Police on Friday night arrested a person following the recovery of the watch.
He has been identified as Wazid Hussain and was arrested last night from his in-law’s house at Moran Moranhat area in Charaideo district.
“The accused person was arrested from the Moranhat area in upper Assam’s Charaideo district on Friday night,” said DGP Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta.
Sivasagar SP Rakesh Raushan said that the arrested person is originally hailing from Sivasagar district and was arrested last night from his in-law’s house at Moranhat area in Charaideo district.
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said it was an operation involving international coordination between the police forces of the two countries.

The accused Wazid was working as a security guard at a company in Dubai in UAE that was storing the belongings of the late Argentinian footballer.
After working for a few months at the company, he returned to Assam in August, taking leave stating that his father was unwell.
The Assam Police swung into action after the Dubai Police reached out to India with information about the accused, DGP Mahanta said.
Subsequently, the accused was arrested from his residence at 4 am and the watch was recovered, he said.
