The Gauhati high court has given its nod to the decision of the Assam government to remove Assamese as a paper for the combined competitive examination (CCE) held by the Assam Public Service Commission (APSC).

The Gauhati High Court pronounced this decision while hearing a plea from a section of APSC CCE aspirants who requested for removal of Assamese paper from the exam.

With the pronouncement of this judgement, the new norms that were laid down by the Assam government for APSC CCE will come into effect from the next examination.

The Assam Cabinet, in a meeting recently, approved changes in the APSC Combined Competitive Examination (CCE).
