At least 65 inmates and staffers at the Namchi Central Jail in Sikkim have tested positive for COVID-19.
These 65 cases were among the 76 COVID-19 cases that were detected in Sikkim on Friday.
Among the 65 cases reported from Namchi Jail, 60 were prisoners and 5 were prison staff.
The Namchi Central Jail is located in South Sikkim district of the Himalayan State.

The district administration has taken various containment measures, the Sikkim health department said.
It added: “Those with COVID-19 symptoms have been isolated.”
