Assam Rifles troops have nabbed a 38-year-old cadre belonging to ULFA (I) from Jagun area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border in the Tinsukia district.
The ULFA (I) rebel was arrested on Tuesday during an operation at Tinkupani reserve forest in Jaguan along the inter-state border.
The arrested rebel has been identified as Girindra Chetia alias Pabitra Asom. Chetia hails from Jangani village under Bordubi police station in Tinsukia district.
A 9 mm pistol and three rounds of live ammunition were found on the detained militant.
Assam Rifles troops have handed over the detained ULFA (I) rebel to Tinsukia police for further action.
Sources said he is being interrogated by top police officials.
