The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has reportedly registered a case in the Manipur ambush case.

Assam Rifles Commanding Officer Colonel Viplav Tripathi, his wife and child besides four AR jawans were killed in an ambush carried out by PLA militants at the Thinghat area in Manipur on November 13.

The home ministry had given a green signal to the NIA a couple of days ago after the agency had sent a proposal to the MHA to register a case in the case, News 18 reported.

The central investigation agency has reportedly sent intimation to Manipur police in this regard.

The NIA has registered cases under various sections of IPC, including wage war against the government of India along with the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
