The ruling BJP in Tripura has accused the Trinamool Congress (TMC) of trying to destabilise the state government.

The saffron party alleged that by destabilising the BJP-IPFT government in Tripura, the TMC was planning to bring the CPI-M in power in the state.

“TMC had hatched a conspiracy to help CPI-M come back to power,” BJP leader and minister in Tripura cabinet Sushanta Choudhury said.

The BJP leader further claimed that the TMC has no support base in Tripura, compelling it to bring people from Assam and West Bengal to show its strength.

“The TMC has no support base in Tripura. That is why, it is bringing in people from Assam and West Bengal to falsely portray its strength in the state,” Choudhury said.

Earlier, Trinamool Congress (TMC) general secretary Abhishek Banerjee, on Sunday, had addressed a mega rally at Agartala in Tripura.

While addressing the rally in Agartala, Abhishek Banerjee slammed the Biplab Deb-led BJP government in Tripura for alleged ‘misrule’.

“Will fight and win against BJP’s oppressive regime,” Abhishek Banerjee said in the public meeting in Tripura.
