Karbi Students’ Federation (KSF), a new organization of Karbi students, has been floated during a meeting held at the Karbi Hemtun in Guwahati recently.
The Federation is a conglomeration of various Karbi students’ organisations.
During the meeting, it was resolved that all constituent organisations’ presidents will be the convenors of Karbi Students’ Federation and their general secretaries will be general secretaries of the Federation.
Karbi Cultural Society president Chandra Sing Kro, who was also present in the meeting, said he hopes that with the formation of the Karbi Students’ Federation, all the Karbi organizations will work together for the development of the Karbis and fight for their causes.
Kro said: “Forming an organisation is easy but keeping it alive and working for a goal is not. I would have prevented you from forming an organisation but when trust develops among the constituent organisations it will be good in working together.”
The constituent organisations of KSF include two factions of Karbi Students’ Association (KSA); All Assam Karbi Youth Association (AAKYA); All India Karbi Students Union (AIKSU); Karbi Students’ Union (KSU), Kamrup; KSU Karbi Anglong, All Arunachal Pradesh Mikir Welfare Society (APMWS), All Assam Karbi Students Association (AAKSA) and KSA, Barrak Valley.
