The Meghalaya government will discuss the issue of high prices of fuel after the by-elections to three Assembly seats in the state on October 30. 

This was informed by Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong in Shillong on Thursday.

Tynsong said, โ€œThe government has taken note of it and after the bye-elections, the cabinet will discuss the issue.โ€ 

Prestone Tynson further said that Meghalaya was the only state in the entire Northeast to reduce taxes on petrol and diesel by Rs 6.

โ€œWe have done our best and it is for the interest of the state and for the interest of everybody,โ€ Tynsong said. 

The Meghalaya deputy chief minister further informed that CM Conrad Sangma has already taken up the issue with union finance minister Nirmala Sitharaman. 

โ€œThe union finance ministry is working out on solutions to the problem,โ€ Meghalaya deputy chief minister Prestone Tynsong said.
