The Trinamool Congress in Tripura is planning to conduct a mass outreach programme ahead of the municipal elections in the state.
The municipal elections in Tripura are being viewed as a warm-up event ahead of the crucial Assembly elections in the state in 2023.
TMC leader Sushmita Dev, who had earlier held the post of president of the All India Mahila Congress before quitting the party, has been tasked with overseeing this outreach programme.
“TMC will kick off the programme Tripurar Jonno TMC in view of the upcoming municipal elections. We will go to every block and meet the people. Our youth committee members will visit people and listen to their grievances,” Sushmita Dev was quoted as saying by India Today.

“We won’t break any law. We will do this for the next 10-12 days. We have protested against the atrocities of the BJP in Tripura,” Sushmita Dev said.
The TMC has already made its presence felt in Tripura and emerged as the main opposition party to the ruling BJP.
Several top political leaders and workers from the BJP, CPI-M and the Congress have joined the TMC, ever since it secured a landslide victory in the West Bengal elections.
