Arrested ULFA (I) rebel Bijoy Lama

Security forces on Saturday apprehended a linkman of proscribed rebel outfit United Liberation Front of Asom-Independent  (ULFA-I)  in Sonari area.

Acting on a tip off, troops of Army’s Dao division and Namtola police launched a joint operation in the area and managed to nab the linkman of the rebel outfit.

The linkman has been identified as Bijoy Lama, 32, son of Namtola village.

One magazine of AK-47 rifle, 30 rounds of live bullets of AK-47, a crude bomb, one letter, 200 tablets of Spasmoproxy used as drugs and Rs 63000 were found on the arrested linkman.

Army sources said the arrested linkman was in contact with the cadre of NSCN (K) and ULFA (I) militants for getting war like store from Assam-Nagaland border area.

The official said there were repeated inputs of movement of insurgents Arm dealers in the bordering area of Assam-Nagaland.
