MHA, Joint Secretary (NE) Satyendra Garg on Friday reviewed the implementation of Memorandum of Settlement with both the factions of Dima Halam Daogah. Garg landed Hafolong from Manipur by helicopter and held a meeting with the officials of the Assam government including commissioner and secretary of hills area development department Anowaruddin Choudhury, joint secretary B Pegu, DIG Southern Range Debraj Upadhyay at the CEM conference hall of NC Hills Autonomous Council.
The meeting was also attended by CEM Debolal Garlosa, Chairperson Ranu Langthasa, EM Kulendra Daulagupu, NCHAC principal secretary Naresh Ghosh and heads of various departments.
Satyendra Garg also held discussion with the principal secretaries regarding the developmental works of the Council.
During the meeting it was proposed to rename the NC Hills Autonomous Council as Dima Hasao Territorial Autonomous Council.
