An inmate of Lower Assam’s Barpeta District Jail on Wednesday committed suicide inside the jail.
According to a media report, the prisoner, who committed suicide inside the Barpeta District Jail, has been identified as Hasibul Hasan.
Hasibul Hasan reportedly committed suicide by hanging from the ventilation of the jail.
He was arrested by police in an elopement case.

Hasan allegedly eloped with a teen and a case of kidnapping a teen was registered on the basis of an FIR.
Hasan was jailed after the court found him guilty.
It has been reported that the prisoner might have taken the extreme step due to depression after failure in love.
However, the family members of the deceased, as reported, have suspected that he was murdered inside the jail.
