The Lakhimpur district administration has imposed a series of prohibitory orders for fair and peaceful observation of Durga Puja.

The district administration has imposed the restrictions under section 144 of CrPC banning assembly of more than five persons at public places during the puja celebrations.

The opening of shops and kiosks on pavements and on public places, parking of vehicles in public places, dumping of garbage on open, public places and public premises, running vehicles at high speeds are also being banned during the Durga Puja celebrations in the Lakhimpur district.

The same prohibition also bans the carrying of firearms, lathis, swords at public places, and asks for prior permission from the concerned authorities for holding rallies, public meetings and functions during this period.

The burning of effigies, installations of Swaheed Bedis on state and private lands, collection of forced donations, lottery and gambling, use of crackers and playing of high pitched sounds closed to educational institutes, hospitals and courts of law.

The Lakhimpur district administration has also banned provocative speeches, anti-national comments and slogans, posters and banners during the festivities across Lakhimpur.

Use of dark window shields on cars, high beam lights, vacuum horns and pillion riding, except children and women also have been banned during the puja period in the Lakhimpur district.

Wearing of olive fatigue by civilians are also banned in the Lakhimpur district, apart from calling for strict adherence to the Covid19 protocol by the public are also being ordered by the district administration.
